چکیده

The need for product customisation is driving industrial companies towards a very large product variety, which a€ects many functions of a company, including the after-sales. Systematic maintenance records of very di€erent product individuals cannot be kept without an abstract view to the population of delivered products. However, the older the product individual, the less systematically recorded information there usually is about it. We de®ned a novel mechanism based on generic models of product individuals organised into a specialisation hierarchy to support multiple abstraction levels. For creating such hierarchies, we de®ned a set of transformation operations on models. Ó 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.

Bhaskar's Views on Transcendental-Critical Research in Education M. Poorkarimi, Ph.D. A.R. Saadeghzaadeh, Ph.D. K. Baagheri, Ph.D. M. Mehrmohammadi, Ph.D. To explain Bhaskar's views on the very essence of transcendental-critical research and the way it can be conducted in the field of education a deductive approach is taken. This type of research assumes a structured uni...

Computer Science at Kent Semantic Modulation of Temporal Attention: Distributed Control and Levels of Abstraction in Computational Modelling

1 Introduction There are now many different approaches to the computational modelling of cognition, e.g. and neurophysiologically prescribed connectionist models (O'Reilly & Munakata, 2000). The relative value of different approaches is a hotly debated topic, with each presented as an alternative to the others; that is, that they are in opposition to one another, e.g. However, an alternative pe...

A Business Process Modelling Environment for Describing Dynamic Processes

In order to survive in the competitive business environment introduced by the technological burst of the last decade, most organisations automated their business activities. The efficient automation of business activities leads to improving their performance and enabling enterprise-wide monitoring and coordination. Business process (BP) modelling is an effective tool towards analysing the behav...

OPTIMUM GENERALIZED COMPOUND LINEAR PLAN FOR MULTIPLE-STEP STEP-STRESS ACCELERATED LIFE TESTS

In this paper, we consider an  i.e., multiple step-stress accelerated life testing (ALT) experiment with unequal duration of time . It is assumed that the time to failure of a product follows Rayleigh distribution with a log-linear relationship between stress and lifetime and also we assume a generalized Khamis-Higgins model for the effect of changing stress levels. Taking into account that the...

Managing Variability in Software Product Families

Software product families have proven to be an effective approach to reuse in software development. In contrary to popular belief, however, deriving products from a product family in an industrial context is an expensive and time-consuming activity. Modelling the variability in a product family can address most of the underlying problems. COVAMOF is a variability modelling approach that represe...
